About
I am a painter and teacher living in Lakeland, Tennessee. I was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and lived in Milford, CT until I was six. My family moved around the northeast from Milford to Horseheads, NY to Woodbury, NJ to Doylestown, PA and to Brookfield, CT when I was a senior in high school. I attended the University of Connecticut, Storrs from 1977-81, where I earned my BFA in Painting. In 1982, I moved to Bowling Green, Ohio to attend Bowling Green State University where I earned my MFA. After a few years of adjunct teaching in Bowling Green, a sabbatical replacement position at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and a one-year position at Memphis College of Art, I was hired full-time at MCA in 1988. With the tragic demise of MCA imminent, I reluctantly left the college in 2017. Since that time I taught for two years in Shelby County Schools in Memphis and then joined East Arkansas Community College in the Fall of 2019.
