Paintings/Drawings 2024-2025
Welcome to my website! I am (slowly) making changes to my site, converting the subject galleries to a more or less chronological, biennial arrangement. I hope this makes clearer the changes that have occurred in the work. This is important to me as I strive to develop my pictures to reflect new ways of seeing and handling media.
Click on the gallery you want to look at then click on a thumbnail to see the whole painting/drawing. You can also click on the “I” button for the title, medium, size, and specific date.
All of my recent paintings/drawings derive from places, things and people that are important to me whether that be local landscapes, the New Jersey Pine Barrens, the Maine coast or dear friends. The Scott’s Creek pictures are among the most recent and ongoing. The creek runs nearby my home and I have haunted it for the last few years. I think of the creek pictures as images I would have painted as an eight year old boy roaming the woods behind our home in Horseheads, NY, if I could have conceived of such a thing at the time, which I couldn’t.
